Draft value ghosts — when the board loves the wrong player
Drafts are emotional machines. FOF makes you sit with that emotion longer than most games because the consequences arrive slowly: practice reports, holdouts, injuries, and the quiet erosion of cap space.
My log format
For each pick I write five lines:
- Need (honest)
- Board want (often dishonest)
- Coach fit (scheme, temperament)
- Medical hunch (superstition allowed)
- Exit plan (trade, cut, renegotiate)
What the sim rewards
Patience and ugly compromises. The posts that resonate on a sim blog are rarely "I drafted perfectly." They're "I drafted humanly and survived the shame spiral."
Try publishing your worst pick of the decade with receipts. Readers love a GM who can laugh at their own spreadsheet.
